Phase 1. Idea Discussion + Temperature Check

Community members are encouraged to draft Soft Proposals for discussion and community feedback.

Temperature Check:

Pass = Greater than 50% approval in Temperature Check poll*.* Soft proposals that pass the temperature check in [Discussion Channel] will be passed on to a Snapshot vote.

**Fail = Less than 50% approval in Temperature Check poll. ****If a soft proposal fails to pass the temperature check then it will not be put up for a Snapshot vote.

• The authors may choose to adjust their proposal based on feedback from the community before posting an updated version and starting the proposal process over.
• Or the soft proposal can be completely redacted.

Tie = If the poll is split 50/50 then there will be a 5 day cool off period in order to come to a compromise. After the cool off period the poll can be reset and resubmitted after a discussion period.

• Participants are allowed to adjust their poll response at any point during the discussion period.
• After the discussion window closes the poll will be considered complete and no other responses will be accepted.
• Common poll answers may include “Yes” and “No”. This applies to both temperature check and Snapshot voting answers.
  • Answers should be clear and concise
  • Answers should not require the respondent to take any additional action
  • Answers should not attempt to lead the respondent in one direction or another
  • Answers should not be neutral ex. "N/A", "Prefer not to answer", "No opinion"

All edits of the posted soft proposal text during Phase 1 must be reported to the community in the [Discussion Channel]. This ensures that the community is made aware of any adjustments to the terms of the soft proposal based on feedback or otherwise. It also helps maintain transparency in the process for those who have already signaled their agreement or disagreement in the poll.

If the proposal needs to be fast tracked through phase one or two in less that 1 week then there needs to be consensus among the group that fast tracking is necessary. How we come to this consensus is yet to be determined and open for suggestion as we move forward.
